Anne Burrell
Anne W. Burrell (born 25th August, 1949) is an American TV chef personality. She also was an instructor for the Institute of Culinary Education. Burrell hosts her own Food Network show Secrets of a Restaurant Chef and co-host of Worst Cooks in America. Anne Burrell, with her trademark spiky blond tresses and her edgy personality on Food Network's Secrets of a Restaurant Cook series, reveals an easy and straightforward methods for cooks at home. Chef Burrell has also worked at some of the top eateries within New York, studied the cuisine and culture of Italy and competed in Food Network's Iron Chef America. As a youngster, growing up in New York's Upstate region, Burrell became passionate about food and cooking. The Culinary Institute of America was the catalyst for her passion for managing restaurants when she received the English and Communications degree from Canisius College Buffalo NY. The Culinary Institute of America was a fantastic learning experience. It was impossible to take enough enjoyment from the experience. After graduating, Burrell worked at La Bottega del 30 in Tuscany as well as La Taverna del Lupo (in Umbria) as she attended an Italian Culinary Institute for Foreigners. In Italy, she developed an appreciation for and knowledge of Italian culinary and cultural traditions. This is a huge influence on how Burrell approaches her cuisine. Burrell was an Garden of Dreams Foundation Advisory Board members, which strives to enhance the quality of life for children facing challenges. Burrell also serves as a Juvenile Disease Research Foundation celebrity ambassador and advocates awareness of the dangers of childhood diabetes. She has been a frequent speaker at conferences and travels across the nation as part of her mentorship role. Through her culinary adventures, Anne has often said that I am very fortunate to share what I love most to others.
